Workplace Description

The area of Health Professions and Pediatric Radiology within Queen Silvia's Children's Hospital consists of the hospital's collective health professions, administrative units, and a radiology department.

Pediatric Radiology is an independent and integrated radiology department within the children's hospital, where we work closely with all other operations, including assignments within national highly specialized care. We provide and perform all radiological and diagnostic child-specific procedures, examinations, and investigations. We have international, national, and regional collaborations with internal and external referrers and healthcare providers. At least 90% of all patients at the children's hospital encounter the pediatric radiology department during their hospital stay. We perform approximately 40,000 examinations per year, and our patients are between approximately 0 and 16 years old. The department is adapted for children and adolescents, equipped with new apparatus and pleasant facilities, both in examination rooms and waiting areas. At Pediatric Radiology, we work together to create a safe space for the child and family. We have close collaboration between different professional categories within the unit, as well as with other departments and clinics. This makes us a workplace with great flexibility and development in most radiological areas.

We are now looking for someone who wants to help develop our department as a unit manager at Pediatric Radiology! Within the radiology department, we plan to establish a joint leadership with two unit managers. Together, you will be responsible for approximately 45 employees, radiology nurses, and nursing assistants, working in a 24/7 operation.

Your Responsibilities

As a unit manager, you will report to the area manager for Health Professions and Pediatric Radiology and will be part of the management team. In the role of unit manager, you will share operational, personnel, budget, and work environment responsibilities. In your assignment, you will, together with your fellow unit manager, lead and distribute the daily work in the department. You will work closely with employees and have an operational role. As a unit manager in the department, you and your colleague will be responsible for utilizing and developing employees' competencies and creating a work climate based on openness and participation.

A joint leadership also means that you and your colleague will utilize and develop each other's strengths. As support in your managerial assignment, you will have the area manager, your managerial colleagues in the area, business developers, HR specialists, and controllers.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed radiology nurse or has other education deemed equivalent by the employer.

Meritorious for the position:

• Management experience or leadership experience.
• Work experience in radiology.
• Education in leadership and/or experience in change management, research, and development work in healthcare.
• Academic background such as a master's degree or doctoral education is meritorious.

We are looking for someone who is confident in their leadership and has a genuine interest in leading others. You drive work with operational development and quality issues, as well as support research. In your role, you need to be communicative and have an easy time collaborating. It is important that you enjoy working in a team and have an unpretentious attitude. You have a good ability to inspire and motivate your employees to achieve set goals. We see that you have the ability to see the whole picture and work flexibly. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

The position entails a fixed-term five-year managerial appointment with a permanent employment in the base profession.
